What our Readers Think…
Amazing, the storyline is just fantastic and the illustrations and colouring are brilliant, so dramatic to each scene.
The only thing that is disappointing is that it ended so soon but on a gripping cliffhanger, can’t wait for the next chapter. I want more…
Nicely done. Good illustration. Looking forward to seeing more in the future.
Keep up the good work.
Where to start? The artwork is incredible, the story is gripping and the cliffhanger just left me wanting more. Can’t wait to explore more of the London Gothic universe with the next instalments!!
Wasn’t sure this was gonna be my thing, but Christ what a story, felt like I was watching tv! OMG I wanna move in with the duke n jellico and go demon hunting in victorian london. Absolutely loved it, can’t wait for next chapter, how could you leave me hanging like that ffs! Lol
Awesome just absolutely bloody awesome.
Received my parcel this morning. Immediately read Chapter 1 from cover to cover and absolutely LOVE it. Everything is of brilliant quality, not just the comic itself, but absolutely everything I received. The story is brilliant, the drawings are stunning. I can’t wait to see how the story continues. Count me in for Chapter 2.
Awesome and a little goresome! I am a newbie to graphic novels but the story is so gripping right from the start and never loses momentum. The artwork is incredible, and truly immerses the reader into the action and atmosphere of the secret underworld of Victorian London. Great characters, great humour and suspense. Can’t wait for Chapter 2!!l
A fantastic story accompanied by stunning art, I cannot wait for the 2nd instalment!
Like the dense London fog beautifully illustrated within its pages, London Gothic envelopes you from the first page. A well-paced tale of monsters and intrigue is brought to life by the rich illustrations and expert use of colour used to highlight the grimmest and most gruesome aspects of this graphic novel. Looking forward to many more adventures with the Duke and Jellicho.
Fantastic art work, looking forward to the next chapter
This is a rollercoaster in the truest sense of the word. Beautifully realised artwork is the vehicle for a powerful storyline with enough twists and turns to keep you turning page after page. I read this in one helping and then reread it immediately after. There are many clever links to other stories, characters and myths to be found if you look hard enough and pay attention- but even if you don’t want to do that, the story races along leaving you in the quandary of wanting to save some for afters whilst at the same time gobble it all down in one go. Really enjoyed it. Looking forward to Chapter 2!!
First off you’re taken aback by the stunning artwork. I suggest you read this in low or no light to fully emerse yourself. The clever use of light and dark, the intricate scenes and symbolism blows you away. The absence of narration allows you to fully appreciate the surroundings and put yourself within and feel the storyline. The characters are well defined and the humour gives the dark a little lift. I am completely hooked and am chomping at the bit for the next 3 chapters.
An absolute cracker. The artwork is stunning and immediately draws you into it’s dark gothic underworld. The characters are excellent, credibly written and you find yourself instantly invested. And the plot has just enough respectful reference to old school gothic horror injected with dazzlingly realised contemporary splatter. In short, Chapter One blew me away both from an artistic and literature perspective. Bring on Chapter Two.
A cracking graphic novel from start to finish. I have to confess, I opened the novel and was taken aback by the impressive artwork, and the cracking storyline, so much so I didn’t put it down until I’d finished!
Outstanding!
This beautifully presented graphic novel is creepy, action-packed and filled with vivid and intriguing characters that leap off its glossy pages. Jellico and the Duke are a perfect duo and the sinister Mr Punch is truly unsettling.
The story zips along at a good pace and doesn’t get bogged down with gratuitous exposition. It gives us just enough to build its world and the mysteries within.
Overall, a satisfying read which has left me excited to see where it goes next.
A pal mentioned this graphic novel to me, i’m so glad she did, bought a copy and blimey….stunning, shocking and a seriously riveting read. 10/10 just want chapter 2,3 & 4 like now! 🙂
